Bergan Valve Control System
Valves are used to control the flow of fluids and gases. There are many types, such as ball, butterfly, piston, etc.
There are many materials and construction techniques that allow for use in diverse temperature and pressure conditions. Valves may be manually or remotely operated. Valves may be fully open or closed types, or proportional (adjustable flow orifice).
Manually operated valves are often controlled by turning a wheel to control how much a valve is open or closed. Remotely operated valves can be controlled by hydraulic fluid, pneumatics (air pressure), or electrical motors. It is useful to know how much a valve is open or closed to control flow rate through the valve. Valve indication is the term for measuring how much a valve is open/closed.
The simplest method of valve indication is counting how many turns of a wheel are used to control the valve.
Full remote operation of valves is possible by having electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic control and proportional indication.
