Bergan Guard Level® Pressure Gauging System
Pressure is the measurement of force applied to a surface area. It is one of the basic measurements in industrial instrumentation.
Common technologies used to quantify the pressure are mechanical strain gauges, ceramics, micro electromechanical systems, and piezoelectricity.
Pressure is a very useful quantity to know. It is possible to derive flow rate, level, mechanical loading on structures, weight, and density.
The derived measurements can be obtained from measuring pressure at one or more points and applying those numbers to a mathematical model. Concrete examples of pressure measurement applications include:
- Liquid level in tanks
- Pressure in the airspace above liquid cargo
- Pressure on manifolds and piping
- Orifice plate flow meters
