Bergan Alarm Monitoring System

The Alarm Monitoring Unit (AMU) is a multi-channel alarm unit with local individual tank alarm display. The AMU monitors both cable condition (cable break or short) and the alarm states (safe, acknowledged, or active alarm) of the Bergan level alarm sensors. When in an active alarm state, the AMU generates an audible alarm using a common piezo buzzer, and a visual alarm through a flashing red (high-high level) or yellow (high level) LED on its user interface. The unit can also drive external devices or act as a dry contact using its onboard relay unit.

The AMU may also be configured to power 4-20 mA current loops and monitor cable conditions for these. The current reading capability has a .05% error of the span or about 8 micro-Ampere, which leads to more accurate displayed values for the computer displays.
